   No, that is actually a beaver dam. We took a walk to the river on our property a couple of weeks ago. There was a dam in the creek and one in the river. This one is in the creek. At the top of the picture, you can see the water that has been blocked. It has a bunch of leaves and stuff on the surface.

   This was my first beaver's dam too. The one in the river was bigger. They had the help of a big tree that fell across the river.

   I have a picture of the river one if you'd like it. I showed it to my class when we got back from spring break. Today, we went to Crystal Springs Preserve on a field trip and Mr. TV said 'ooooooh' every time the lady said 'dam'. I thought I had prepared him for this situation already.
